Cooper Hensley is the perfect front man for Damaged Souls. #1

“I don’t need your damn forgiveness, Caylee.”
“I just . . .” I struggled to find the words for what I wanted to say. All my good intentions had exploded. I’d assumed this would be something manageable, but I hadn’t expected the landmine of emotions that now lay bare between us. This was much more complicated.
“What? Not what you expected? Did you think you could just come and find me merrily going about my life?” His tone still held anger, but it was also heavily laced with pain as he lowered his voice to give us more privacy.
“I assumed with . . .”
Again, he interrupted as years of withheld frustration unleashed. “You assumed because I can wear a smile and pretend that all is right with the world, that I’m functioning. I don’t owe you any explanations, Caylee. But not everyone can let go. Not everyone wants to.”

#2

“And the name?” That was something else I’d wondered. “Out of every possible title, how’d you come up with Damaged Souls?”
Cooper beat Aidan to the punch. “Because FUBAR didn’t seem appropriate at the time.”
The word felt familiar, but I couldn’t quite remember where I’d heard it.
Aidan saved me from asking or Googling it. “It means Fucked Up Beyond All Recognition.”
“I still say it was the perfect name,” Cooper uttered, stretching slowly before getting up onto his feet. I didn’t know if he was ever aware at how often he did this, but I could always tell when his leg began hurting—he’d rub at his thigh, and pain lines would crinkle his brow. “I also suggested We Be Fucked.”
“Or simply Fucked,” Aidan added. “There was definitely a theme back then. We tossed a few more ideas around until Troy spoke up. He’d been sitting there quietly, just listening to us banter back and forth, arguing for our favorites.” He cast a quick glance at his friend, who was currently strumming softly on his guitar, his eyes closed as he focused on the different chords he was playing. “I guess we’re just a bunch of damaged souls.”
“Bam!” Cooper’s loud comment made me jump in my seat as he banged his fist in his palm. “It clicked, and we’ve been Damaged Souls ever since.”

 #3

“As much as I enjoy guessing, you need to clue me in.” Currently lying back on her pillows, a goofy grin plastered across her face, all she could get out was dramatic sighs. “And breathe! Whatever it is, it isn’t a reason to hyperventilate.”
“Oh, I beg to differ,” she countered quickly, one eye popping open. “My world has forever been altered. He knows.”
Still completely and utterly clueless, my brow scrunched. “He?”
Suddenly, Rebecca jumped up, grabbing her laptop and pointing furiously at the screen as she gulped in air. “He. Knows. Who. I. Am.” She was so excited; each word was punctuated heavily with an invisible exclamation mark. “He knows!”
When I didn’t reply with the appropriate enthusiasm, my giddy roommate exhaled impatiently, finally revealing what she’d been viewing. The moment I saw the screen, everything clicked. The fact she was still coherent was a miracle—previous encounters had reduced her to breathless squeaks and incomplete sentences.
I didn’t spend a lot of time on Facebook, but my roommate did, and one of the pages she liked to stalk religiously was an actor she admired. I often teased her that it was a little more than admiration and she was scarily close to being one click away from certifiable.
She’d simply snorted and replied that once she’d properly introduced me to the sexy yumminess that was Stephen Amell, I would totally understand her addiction.
“What’s Mr. Amell up to today?” Biting my lip, I tried not to crack a smile while I watched Rebecca swell with another blast of animated elation, on the verge of exploding again as her hands flapped in front of her. “Is there a new video or something?”
“He liked my photo!” she erupted, her words tumbling out rapidly.
Damn. This was huge. Even I could see that. While I didn’t have her same exuberance for certain things, her energy was infectious. Plopping down beside her, I pulled the computer onto my lap for a closer look. “He did! Wow!” As I clicked on the photo her post was connected to, it was hard to ignore Rebecca’s second wind as she danced around her room. If she ever decided a career in film and stardom didn’t appeal, she could wow the crowds as a Vegas showgirl. She had the strut down pat as she pranced about, stopping in spurts to flail like a Muppet.
My friend was nuts—in a good way.
“I posted a selfie from the other day when I wore his shirt. He sent out a call for everyone to share their photos, and who am I to refuse Captain Amell?”  She actually rolled her eyes at me, like she couldn’t believe it was even an option. “I have no idea how he saw it, though. My phone doesn’t let me tag his page, and I was in a rush.”
“Maybe he’s stalking you.” Just as I predicted, her eyes widened like saucers, and a fresh burst of feverish dancing threatened to detonate.
Her victory pirouette came to an abrupt halt. “No. No way.” I could almost see her mind ticking over, trying to find a reasonable answer. “I’m nobody.”
Cocking my eyebrow, I shrugged. “I beg to differ. I think you’re pretty epic. I’d stalk you.”
“You live with me, stupid,” Rebecca grunted, the first time during our whole conversation she appeared somewhat serious.

~Dream Cast & Blog Tour~ Keeper's Challenge by Sabina Bundgaard

Title: Keeper’s Challenge
Author: Sabina Bundgaard
Genre: Dark Fantasy/Urban fantasy/paranormal Suitable for YA/NA
Hosted by: Lady Amber's Tours

Blurb:
I am the Keeper of the covens book, but have no magical powers.
I have always walked my own way and am proud of what I’ve done. My beloved bookstore is my safe haven.
Now trouble is brewing in the magical world. Three Keepers have been brutally murdered, their books missing.
Now it is after me and my book.
Teaming up with agents Vladimir Stanislav and Jake Levis is my only chance at surviving.
My name is Anna Carringthon, and I am the Keeper of the Invicto. I will protect it to my death.

Sabina Bundgaard lives in Denmark with her husband and their two children. By day she races around the countryside, delivering mail and packages to people. By night… Well, that’s a different story.
While drinking one of her many flavors of tea, she delves into the mysterious realms of her imagination. Writing about everything from Elves and Dragons to Romance and Erotica, she tries her wings to see where they will take her.
Her favorite pastime when not writing is reading, making jewelry and speaking to her friends all over the world, celebrating their victories and happy times.

Teaser #1
“You will do as told this minute, young lady. You are not to have any further contact with those two detectives.”
Her mouth twisted like she just tasted something sour.
“Furthermore, you are to come back to the coven and stay there. The book is not safe in your store, and I am not willing to risk something happening to it. Not now.”
Holding out her hand, she looked me directly in my eyes.
“Better yet, hand it over this instant.”
“What?” I felt sucker punched. I’m the Keeper of the Invicto.
“Clearly you are not capable of protecting it, so I need it. Now.”
My great-grandmother had warned me about this. She told me the day would come were my mother would make some ridiculous excuse to get her hands on the book. There was a reason why she chose me to be the next Keeper and not my mother. Lifting my chin, I stood my ground.
“No.”

Teaser #2:
“What happened?” Maris stood right in front of me, her entire aura lit up by her worry for Lucie.
“Mother is currently lecturing the staff and the two PSP detectives in there about Goddess knows what. I’m hiding out here until she’s done.” Letting my head fall into my hands, I gave into my fear and worry for a few seconds. “They knew what attacked us last night, Maris, The second I described that, that… That horrid thing, they grabbed me and ran toward their car to get here as fast as possible. You don’t want to know how many traffic rules we broke to get here.” My words were garbled, and I was too exhausted to care.
“Will she be alright?”
Nodding, I took another sip from my cup. “I’m just waiting for Mother to be done and then come and yell at me.”
Maris sat down in front of me, grabbing both my hands.
“She does love you, you know?”
I couldn’t help but to snort. “She has a funny way of showing it, Maris.”

Teaser #3:
The room was empty. Frowning, I looked around. Had I missed him somehow? I knew I heard someone. Just to be sure, I grabbed the door handle. Locked. A sound behind me made me jump. I wasn’t imagining things, I heard someone this time.
Grabbing the gun I was carrying, I took the safety off. My hands were still shaking a little, but after a few deep breaths, I was all good.
“Whoever the hell you are, get out now.” I was beginning to feel anger burning in my veins. No one was going to get into my store to wreck it twice. No one.
“There’s no reason for the gun, Miss. I can’t come out into the light at the moment, but if you could move a little closer?”
A snort escaped me. Riiight. “I’m not that dumb. Get out where I can see you. Now.”
A sigh came from my right side.
“Don’t say I didn’t warn you.”
What used to be a man stepped out from the little shadow there were behind one of my bookshelves. A dark fedora was perched on the top of his head, hiding some of his face. He was wearing a suit. Since when did crooks wear suits? A sliver of light came through one of the windows and I almost gasped when I truly saw him.

 DREAM CAST

Hi everyone!!
I am here today to talk a little about my dream cast of Keeper’s Challenge ever should be made a movie.
Well, a girl can dream, right? ;-)
So…. Here goes.

Anna Carringthon is fierce, determined, loyal and stubborn. I think the actress Rachel Weisz would fit her perfectly. The movies I’ve seen her in always made me smile and I admire her enormously.

Chris Pratt would be a very good candidate for Anna’s wild cousin Lucas. And he has that cute glint in his eye that I always imagined Lucas would have.

Now for Vladimir Stanislav….. Hmmm… Well, it was a bit trickier to be honest. And yet once I found Rob Lowe, it all made sense to me. *grins* So…. My favorite actor playing Vladimir would definitely be Rob Lowe. Not to forget, he’s quite fine to look at too. ;-)

Now Jake Levis is a different matter. He’s gruff, rude, have a bad temper and curses. A lot. Since I am from Denmark, it made perfect sense to pick a Danish actor that would fit him. And Nikolaj Coster Waldau is in my mind a perfect match. (You might know him from Game of Thrones)

So… The last one on the list is Anna’s mother. Now she is quite the work. I never really did like her, although certain events in my next book Keeper’s Fate does redeem her just a tiny bit, I still don’t like her. She’s a cold hearted woman. To put it mildly. Have you ever seen Charlie’s Angels? Remember the one were Demi Moore was the bad guy? Okay, woman. She has that look around her that screams… well, a certain curse word. So, in my mind, Demi Moore is absolutely perfect to play Anna’s mother.

Well, this was my take on the dream cast if Keeper’s Challenge ever should me made into a movie.
What do you think? Do you have someone else in mind?

Coming soon to:

Person after person approached me to touch my hand and mumble some sort of greeting. I wasn’t exactly sure what was going on, but just played along since my father and Seth both seemed to understand. The crowd around me pressed tightly as more people tried to touch my hand. I got the feeling they understood I wasn’t going to stand around all night doing it, and would walk away as soon as I could.
“Don’t think this changes anything,” a way-too-familiar voice said into my ear. My heart beat faster, and I didn’t want to turn and confirm what I already knew. Logan was in my father’s palace. “You will still be mine. I can see our son is still here, and that’s all I need to know. This changes nothing. Once I find the last stone, I’ll be coming for you and there will be nothing your father can do to stop me.”
I turned to fire a retort at him even though I had no clue what I was going to say. He backed up and flashed me one of his model Logan smiles before fading among the guests who were still trying to touch me. I stared dumbfounded and watched him go.
Coming to my senses, I looked around the room to see if I could see the rest of my family and friends. The mob was too tight, and I just wasn’t tall enough. I dropped my hand and began to push through the mass of people to where my father and mother were. Everyone parted and allowed me through. Seth came out of the crowd also just as easily as I had. When I reached my parents, my father bent down and touched his forehead to mine.
“I’m so happy you returned to us,” he told me.
My mother beamed from beside him. They were beyond happy. This was probably the day they both had been waiting their whole lives for. I couldn’t ruin it by telling them about Logan. I’d have to wait and talk to Kye. This was their wedding day, and they deserved to have it without worry. Even with everything, I was happy to be there with them.
I looked around the hall of people. Once I reached my father, everyone took that as their cue to go back to their little groups and enjoy the night. Seth waited just below us on the stairs as he watched me. I wanted to decipher his smile, but I was too worried now about Logan. I scanned the crowd and my father’s words rung way too true in my head. I was happy to have returned to him, but unfortunately, I wasn’t the only one who returned.

He followed the haunting music through the dense fog. It grew louder and louder, calling him forward. Enticing. Mesmerizing. The tune was vaguely familiar. Melancholy, tragic, and yet somehow majestic and romantic. He reached the water’s edge and peered ahead, straining his eyes in order to find the music’s origin. He saw movement. He heard small splashes as ripples of current surged.
