Blog Tour: Muse by Erin McFadden

Title: Muse
Author: Erin Mc Fadden

Genre: YA/NA Contemporary Fantasy
Tour Host:
Lady Amber's Tours

Book Description:
The Brotherhood of the Guardians has existed for thousands of years to serve a single purpose: the protection of Talents, the mortal descendants of the original nine Muses.
Twenty-one year-old Daniel Lyoncourt has trained his entire life to join the Guardians. Daniel is prepared to risk his life in order to keep his Talent safe, but when he's assigned to nineteen year-old Anna Saint-James, he discovers that his life isn't the only thing he could lose. Anna has no idea how special she is and knows nothing about her abilities. He must teach her to control her gifts, keep her safe, and hope that he can find a place in her life as something more than just her bodyguard.
All power comes at a price. Like all Talents, Anna must one day make a choice: lose all of her powers, or ascend to a higher plane, leaving behind everyone she loves.

Erin McFadden lives in Indiana with her husband, daughter, and their various pets. When not writing, she enjoys reading, doing craft projects, and spending time with family. Erin works in law enforcement and has a bachelor's degree in criminal justice and criminology from Ball State University.

Daniel was still holding my hand, and as we stood in the quiet confines of the elevator, he gazed down at our clasped hands as if he was surprised to see that he still held mine in his. I moved to pull mine away, a little embarrassed that I'd let a total stranger hold my hand this long. It just felt…nice.
As he released his hold on mine, Daniel took a small step away and flexed his now empty hand.
“I'm sorry. I shouldn't have done that. I—I, uh. I know this is going to sound kind of strange, but I've waited a long time to meet you,” he whispered. Now what girl doesn't want to hear that at least once in her life?

Dream Cast
Dream Cast for Muse (Descended from Myth: Book One) for Jazzy Reviews
Anna Saint-James
Anna was adopted just before her second birthday and raised in a happy home with wonderful parents and an adopted sister she adores. Now nineteen, Anna can’t help but feel as though something is missing from her life. She desperately wants to know more about her birth parents and to understand her own life story. College is a welcome adventure, and Anna finds herself surrounded by sparklingly creative friends and new opportunities. What she doesn’t realize is that her circle of friends are so successful and inspired for a reason, because she is their inspiration. Anna is a Talent, a direct descendent of a Muse, the Greek goddesses of artistic and aesthetic expression. Unfortunately, Anna has no idea that she has such an impressive pedigree, let alone that she has the ability to inspire and influence others. She’s just trying to find her niche in life and maybe, finally, pick a major.
Actress Molly Quinn is my choice to play the role of Anna, because she has the right blend of intelligence, humor, and innocence. Plus, she’s just so cute!
Daniel Lyoncourt
Daniel was born with responsibilities. As the only son in a family with a legacy that stretches back to ancient times, his path is clear. He will join the Brotherhood of the Guardians and take his place as a protector. Daniel never wanted to do anything else, but that doesn’t mean he’s willing to follow blindly in his father’s footsteps. His father never cared about anyone or anything as much as the Talent he protected. Daniel was left at home, dealing with his mother’s jealousy and his sister’s tears. Despite his mother’s opposition, Daniel passionately pursues his training and education with the Brotherhood. He excels in languages, swordsmanship, and security tactics. Daniel’s sense of humor, charm, and good looks make him a favorite novice with the Talents he helps to protect, but he keeps a respectful distance. His commitment to his family and his career is too strong for him to allow himself to be distracted by any fling, especially with a Talent.
I had a ridiculously hard time picking an actor for Daniel! I finally settled on Chace Crawford. He has the right type of physical presence and a nice voice. In my head, Daniel has the best voice!

Gabriel Rexworth
Gabriel is the head, or Grand Master, of the Brotherhood of Guardians. The power and responsibility of this position weighs heavily on Gabriel’s every action and is his entire reason for existing. For Gabriel, I wanted an actor with a strong presence who could be a convincing leader. Several readers suggested Sean Connery, and since the ages fit well I agree that he’s a good choice.
Mina Strahovski
Mina is a Talent who is able to Influence people’s inhibitions and impulses. Mina has found a niche in Las Vegas, where she exploits her own abilities for profit and to support the extravagant lifestyle she and her Watcher have fallen into. Debts and vices have made her an easy target for manipulation.
Crystal Reed from Teen Wolf has the flashy personality and perfect looks to be Mina. I hadn’t seen her before writing Muse, but she is so close to the picture in my head!
Claire
Claire is a Talent with a mysterious past. She’s completely unknown to the Guardians, but in desperate need of their help. Claire is delicate and fragile, she’s had a hard and uncertain life but she looks younger than she really is. Claire is starting to fight for herself, but her own fear stands in the way.
Annasophia Robb, most recently on The Carrie Diaries has the soft, vulnerable but sweet look that I wanted for Claire. Claire becomes even more important in Book Two of the Descended from Myth Series, Talent.
Stefan Muller
Stefan is a Guardian novice, in other words, he’s still in training and hasn’t officially joined ranks. He’s idealistic, ambitious, and not afraid to use technology to accomplish the duties the Brotherhood has carried out for thousands of years.
Stefan is young, strong, and handsome. I like Max Carver from Desperate Housewives for the role of Stefan. He’s boyish, but still looks like he can kick some butt if necessary.
Kaitlyn Lyoncourt
Daniel’s little sister understands what makes her brother tick far more than he’s comfortable with. She’s opinionated and a little pushy, but she genuinely wants Daniel to be happy in the long run. She’s just not afraid to irritate him along the way.
I love India Eisley for Kaitlyn, she’s so pretty and has a soulful look about her that works. I hope that she’d have Kaitlyn’s sense of humor as well!
Thanks for giving me a chance to share a glimpse of the characters from Muse and the Descended from Myth series! I had a lot of fun and tried my best to keep this spoiler free, so I apologize if it sounds a little vague. You can to get to know everyone even better by picking up a copy of Muse in e-book or paperback. Thanks again!
